Brevity is both the pragmatic choice and a lesson itself.
Designating this series an interactive experiment was unintentionally strategic.
Use of the word ‘interactive’ reminded me that the most valuable experiences would come as a result of the conversations — never would I respond with something so empty as “cool thanks”. Use of the word ‘experiment’ permitted natural evolution and further quashed expectations that might snake themselves into this sanctuary.
Your responses—inquisitive, encouraging, and critical—have continuously prompted me to write on topics I never imagined myself brave enough to explore. Reflecting on the sheer volume of words that have flowed through my keyboard in the last few weeks astonishes me, but looking ahead confounds me far more powerfully.
Seeing the rubble of an idea that once stood gloriously, and yet completely hidden from view, in the landscape of my mind I piece together something interesting. I recognize now that I had subconsciously believed the value I could share with the world was finite and yet the more I write… the more I am prompted with new ideas.
The easiest way to acquire new inspiration is to give yours away.
Sparking a fertile orgy of ideas in your mind is both a solution and a problem. The creative writing process has enabled me to render into existence that which was once intangible — it provides release. Yet, the more I quantify these feelings with words, the more others bubble to the surface begging the same attention.
Complex problems are easily countered with creative solutions.
Enter into the picture Keith B. and Madi T., both curious explorers seeking stimulus for their own quantification, they afforded me the opportunity to annex my processing through an oddly symbiotic relationship that benefits both parties.
By “mentoring” them on a particular topic, usually through a few hours on a recorded call, they are provided with the foundation for their exploration. They investigate, research, and experiment with the idea to further quantify it for themselves before then making it tangible for others in the form of an editorial.
Together we create something neither would be capable of creating alone.
These documented explorations will feature topics ranging from ‘launching, building, and leveraging podcasts’ to ‘the semantics of development of an audience of raving fans’, but… I won’t be the only mentor and they won’t be the only mentees.
This is, after all, about expanding reach.
I’ll be matching people’s curiosities with mentors and experts that will enable them to explore ideas and quantify them for others. What started as a method of outsourcing seems to have developed into a network for collaborative mental processing.
In true form, what started as a simple idea with intended brevity, this email has evolved into something greater — a query regarding your interest in participating.
Do you have an idea you’d like to explore?
