There’s more than just pocket change stuck in your proverbial couch.
Yesterday, within the Ghost Influence community, Keith B. asked me for an opinion. He was curious as to hear my perspectives on a sales funnel solution he was considering.
I’m showcasing the conversation without blurring his name as he’s been playing guinea pig and writing an editorial on how he’s been able to land the biggest clients of his career.
His message prompted a bit of confusion. Not because the client acquisition system he was considering was challenging to understand, but rather it was his need for clients.
To establish a foundation for his editorial on social engagements, we’d spoken via Skype. Exactly twelve days later he messaged me saying, “I just closed the deal that put me over $100k per year! He was the guy you gave me advice for a couple weeks ago.”
If Keith was dominating his goals… why was he trying to acquire more clients this way?
It’s easy to fall into the opportunity trap.
There will always be newfangled tools or systems glistening like a shiny disco ball on the horizon. The lure of these distracting solutions and their promises to accelerate your journey will never subside. With practice identifying them and accountability partners to keep your vision clear, you’ll be able to slam on the breaks before you drive over the cliff.
If you’re considering any deviation from—or acceleration on—your path, remember this:
“Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.” ~ Albert Einstein
This twenty-four minute talk by Tim Ferriss has been stuck in my head for a few years.
Question everything around you. When you start thinking creatively about one thing, you start thinking creatively about other things. Subtract everything that isn’t necessary.
More often than not, you don’t need more than you already have to accomplish your goals.
As for Keith, he messaged me 16 minutes later to say…
As those within it already know, the Ghost Influence community isn’t a glittery place filled with fluffy puppies and magic unicorns. It’s a bare knuckle boxing match of tough love.
For those of you not ready to jump in the ring, keep working. Use everything you’ve got.
Think of the hurdles you’re working to overcome, what solutions do you already have?
